Can I ask a question without offending Spanish members? Neighborhhood?

i have some great neighbors...spanish on both sides of me, and down the street.

their homes are very nice and the yards are kept up....but there is the strangest thing.

they love to put big wooden posts in the middle of their beautiful lawns with the most hideous kmart type night lighting fixtures you have ever scene.

i wasn't sure whether to put this in scandals or beliefs and practices.

it could easily go in either.. this topic has been discussed plenty of times.

it seems to me that this is a much bigger problem in the jws than most people realize.

JWs influenced the sex life of our marriage in different ways (no "perversions", etc) but I never resembled the husband in the OP. Rather, I would try to convince my (ex) wife to get in the mood, so that she would initiate it. If I would initiate, that was a turn-off for her, so I rarely initiated.

Of course, my current marriage to an ExJW does not have any of these hangups, so that part of my life is so much better!

A belief in an afterlife is the most dangerous of all beliefs

this is an essay i am posting on freeminds... i'm posting it here too for good measure.... it is well known that the 9-11 attackers had a belief in an afterlife.

as the story goes, apparently they believed that after they would die gloriously, having killed thousands of american infidels, they would be taken into paradise and would enjoy the company of 72 virgins.. .

i think it is quite easy to see the connection between the belief in such an afterlife and the nefarious deeds that these men committed.

Please advise when we can recreate this test. When Jehovah sends his flames down from heaven, and the FSM fails to do so, I will join in proclaiming, "Jehovah is the true God! Jehovah is the true God!". Biut if he fails to do so, I will mock, and say: “Call at the top of YOUR voice, for Jehovah is a god; for he must be concerned with a matter, and he has excrement and has to go to the privy. Or maybe he is asleep and ought to wake up!”

So unless theists are willing to follow the Bible based proof of Godship, they are the ones suffering from CD, and their God is full of BS (as was Baal).

when i told her i would never go back and meetings make me sick, i mentioned how df was a control mechanism meant to keep people in the org.......and that was when i told her i really dont want to be df'd.

i prob should have said it was used to keep people in line....actually should have never told her what i thought df was.......cause the conversation was already bad....... but she asked "why would the gb use it or view it as a "control mechanism?

" what would be their motive?...i have always been taught it is just the bibles way of keeping the cong.

So, Perry, why we atheists decide to reject these moral teachings of the Bible just boggles the mind. In fact, since most Bible toting Christians reject this morality in our scientifically modern enlightened world indicates that morality comes from within and from an acceptance of others ratyher than from the Bible.

when asked for their religious affiliation, 15 percent of americans say none, but only 0.7 percent say atheist ..... .

i present the above info just as a reminder that very, very few people consider themselves atheist despite decades of "scientific" propaganda suggesting otherwise.
